Frequently Asked Questions
First of all please verify the local process (including any locally required documentation) with your local/country/marriage coordinator.
In order to apply, you will need to register on the marriage portal.
Your coordinator will have to request access for you by providing your details.
After access request is approved, you will receive an email which will guide you with steps to setup your profile and account registration (SY-ID).
After your profile is created you will be able to sumbit a marriage application through the platform by logging in, and clicking on the link "Marriage Application" in the home page.
We advise yogis and yoginis to register on the platform and create their profile (SY-ID), even though they are unsure whether to apply, so that, when a decision is taken, the process will be quicker.
In any case by creating a profile you are not bound in any way to apply, and will eventually be able to apply for future ceremonies if you so desire.
Please reach out to your state or country coordinator or both for requesting access to the portal and for requesting approval of your submitted form.
The SY-ID is the identifier that represents your profile on the marriage portal. The SY-ID is used throughout the portal records (by IMC team) and identifies you uniquely as a yogi/yogini wishing to apply to Sahaja marriages.
You have to create your profile and get your SY-ID only once, and apply to different marriage ceremonies with the same ID.
The SY-ID is also used to ensure your privacy in email communications.
If you do not remember the exact day, you can write the Month+Year or the Year only (if you don't remember the month)
You can find your SY-ID by clicking on "Requests" on top right corner of the portal and select "All". You will see all submissions including registration and marriage applications
After submitting the form you cannot amend it yourself, but you can request to amend or provide additional information in comments of your form.
On portal home page, on top right corner, click Requests -> Created by Me -> APPL22-XX
Add comments and/or attachments at the bottom of your marriage application.
click Submit
IMC does not require any document in general from applicants except for -
divorce certificate (only in case of previous marriage),
details about illnesses (in case of impactful illnesses).
The process in place in your country might require you to provide additional documents, that can be attached to your application form.
In case there is no need to provide additional documents, please select the option "No documents" in the form.
The marriage platform allows you to communicate to coordinators or IMC by using the comments at the bottom of your form. If you received a request for information via email through the marriage platform, it will re-direct you to your application form, where you can respond or attach additional documents by using the comment section.
After submitting the form you cannot amend it yourself, but you can request to amend or provide additional information, by clicking in the home page on Requests -> Created by me, and adding comments or attachments at the bottom of your marriage application.
Following steps happen at the back end -
Step 1: Feedback request from the coordinator you mentioned in your form
After you submit your form, it has to be reviewed by the coordinators you indicated before final submission to IMC. The status of your application will change to "SHARED WITH COORDINATOR". The coordinatos will be able to ask for more information through the platform, provide their feedback and then approve it to be forward to IMC.
Step 2: Feedback shared with IMC
When coordinators submit their feedback, your application's status changes to "SHARED WITH IMC". After receiving your application form and related feedbacks it is reviewed by the IMC who might also request for more info, if unclear. If no more information is required, your application's status will get changed to "ACKNOWLEDGED BY IMC"
You can withdraw your marriage application anytime during the process. To do the same, you must comment a single word - WITHDRAW - in the comments section of your application. Please note you have to write ONLY ONE WORD - WITHDRAW and the system will process accordingly.
